Erica & Jim – Fort Story

Jan 16th, 2015

It was a bright sunny morning in October, not a cloud in the sky! I arrived at Fort Story and met the bridal party at a cute cottage a few blocks from the ceremony site. Erica’s mom and sisters helped her get ready for the big day ahead. Once the veil was placed and the other finishing touches were made, we were ready to head to the beach where the groom was anxiously waiting. Erica and Jim had a very intimate wedding ceremony on the beach at Fort Story with only close friends and family in attendance. To make the beach theme complete, the bride wore no shoes as she walked down the sandy aisle with her dad. The groom, an officer in the Navy, was wearing his dress white uniform while the bride wore an elegant lace wedding gown. The bouquet was a gorgeous selection of fall flowers, with bright reds and orange. This wedding was not only a union of two people, but a union of a family! Before their wedding day, the couple adopted two older children to make their little family complete. All of the children invited to the wedding were a big part of this ceremony and celebration. Each child walked down the aisle, some with a little help from Grandma. 🙂 They said their vows as the sun shined down on all of us and the ocean crashed on the rocks and sand, what a perfect day for a beach wedding! I had a wonderful time photographing this special day, congratulations and best wishes Erica & Jim! 🙂
