Wedding at Women’s Club of Portsmouth
Women’s Club of Portsmouth:
Eileen & Andrew had their beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the Women’s Club of Portsmouth. The bridal party prepared for the big day in the bridal suite on the second floor while the groom and groomsmen were getting ready at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel near by. Eileen & Andrew chose navy and baby blue as their wedding colors, which worked out perfectly because this venue has navy decor. Because of the large family and number of sponsors, we decided to take as many of the wedding party photos prior to the ceremony. We all ventured outside next to and behind the venue to take beautiful portraits of the bride and bridesmaids and later with groom and groomsmen. This venue has a great landscape filled with trees, lots of greenery, flowers and a small lake in the background. Right before the ceremony, the bride and groom had a letter exchange through the Matron of Honor Elaine. That moment alone set the tone for what a emotional day it was going to be.
Since it was a late hot summer day, Eileen & Andrew had their wedding ceremony inside the venue at Women’s Club of Portsmouth. The ceremony included the traditional Filipino ritual of the presentation of veil, chord and coins. Their ceremony also included live music performed by close friends and family. I always love it when there are many events included in a ceremony since I get so many more opportunities to take photos. There were emotional moments throughout the ceremony where the wedding party, guests and wedding vendors (myself included) tried to keep the tears back. This is why I love what I do!
After all the formal family and wedding party portraits, I took the bride and groom down the street to a favorite spot of mine to take their formal portraits. We could not have planned the day better since we got beautiful golden hour light shining through the trees and reflecting off the water in the background. It was nice to take my couple away for just a minute to enjoy some time alone and get those intimate photos as husband and wife. We all walked back to the venue and went right into grand introductions, and I have to say this wedding party did not disappoint! Each couple came in dancing and smiling away, they were all so much fun to photograph! The bride and groom continued into their choreographed first dance and moved around the dance floor with so much grace and elegance, they looked like royalty.
The evening continued with heart-felt toasts, cake cutting and lots of dancing. Did I mention that each table had their own cake? How awesome is that, and how thoughtful! We all took a little break from dancing for a gigantic group photo of the entire wedding and then continued on with the party.
Congrats Eileen & Andrew, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph and be part of your big day! I loved it! 🙂
